Impromptu New Year’s fireworks display in the paddock with my friendly neighbours. We see the Blue Moon, the first on New Year’s Eve since 1900, when the first firework rockets skyward.

Here’s one of my photos of Uma and her man back in summer 2008 at the 90th Birthday dinner for Nelson Mandela. It’s a grab shot because at the time I could not see who was in the car. It hurtled past us. At first glance we thought it might be Hugh Grant. LOL. When I looked on the laptop screen I could see Uma and immediately pinged the photo over to the papers.

It’s been sitting there all this time so I hope one of the newspapers uses it. Clearly, Uma has indeed become infatuated with me since then and this is of course the real reason she’s fobbed off the Hugh Grant lookey-likey.

Uma Thurman breaks off engagement to multi-millionaire Arki Busson.

Actress Uma Thurman has broken off her engagement to French multi-millionaire Arpa ‘Arki’ Busson.

The 39-year-old star – who has appeared in movies including Quentin Tarantino films Kill Bill and Pulp Fiction – split from financier Mr Busson last month.

They had been engaged for more than a year.

‘The engagement ended a while back – but they remain friends,’ a source revealed.

The couple started dating in the summer of 2007.

A year later, Mr Busson  – who was previously the partner of Australian supermodel Elle Macpherson – proposed by presenting Ms Thurman with an eight-plus carat engagement ring.

According to reports, Ms Thurman is now likely to return all of 47-year-old Mr Busson’s  belongings to him, including the ring.

The source added: ‘She will probably give it back. She wants to return everything that is his.’

Mr Busson – who was engaged to Ms Macpherson for three years before their relationship ended – is said to be ‘beside himself’ at the break-up.

There is speculation the romance may have fizzled out because of the long distance between the pair.

Mr Busson – who has built his career in hedge funds – was born in Africa before being raised in Paris. He now resides largely in London, where his ex-partner Ms Macpherson and their two children are based.

Meanwhile, Ms Thurman, 39, has continued to live in Los Angeles, California.

In a recent magazine interview, Ms Thurman insisted she could never join Mr Busson to live in Britain permanently because she wanted her children to stay close to their father, fellow Hollywood actor Ethan Hawke.

In the interview, in September, she said: ‘I’m happily engaged but we haven’t set a wedding up.

‘I’m not in a rush to do anything. One day we’ll do it, when we’re ready.

‘We can’t live anywhere else because my children’s father lives here. We’ll figure it out.’

Ms Thurman has a daughter Maya, 11, and son Levon, seven, with ex-husband Mr Hawke.

They were married for six years until 2004 but split after claims he had an affair with a Canadian model. Before that Ms Thurman was previously wed to British actor Gary Oldman for two years from 1990.

Mr Busson has two sons with Ms Macpherson – Arpad, 11, and six-year-old Aurelius.

They started their romantic relationship in 1995 and became engaged in August 2002. But they called off their wedding in July 2005.
